Background

Dr. Batool is working in the field of neuroscience. Her recent research work is focused on the effects of pharmacological interventions and drug therapy on brain activity in diseased as well as in normal state in animal model of anxiety, depression, dementia, aging, and metal toxicity. The prime interest is to investigate the preventive and therapeutic strategies to cure, delay or prevent the life threatening neurodegenerative diseases. She has more than 70 publications in renowned national and international journals with 1839 citations and 22 h-index. During post-graduate studies Dr. Batool established the role of nuts supplementation on memory functions and the possible potential of nuts to attenuate age-associated memory loss. She has been awarded with HEC Indigenous Scholarship for the completion of Ph.D. studies. She has also been awarded with travel awards to present her research work at national and international platforms. In postdoctoral training, she has obtained training on electrophysiology and now she has applied these techniques in her currents studies such as EEG recording and local field potential.
